Grant County Economic Development Corp in Wisconsin – New Website

Grant County, Wisconsin ImageAt WebWise Design & Marketing, we are privileged to work with great organizations and extremely accomplished people. The result of our latest collaboration is a new version of the grantcounty.org website. The new website is mobile-friendly and device responsive. Every visitor has a good experience viewing, navigating, and finding the information they seek.

The Grant County WI website provides a significant amount of economic development information provided by the Grant County Economic Development Corporation, GCEDC, and tourism information provided by the Grant County Tourism Council, with help from University of Wisconsin Extension–Grant County.

The Grant County Economic Development Corporation works with Grant County and its cities, villages, and towns (townships) to promote the growth and retention of business and industry and to enhance the quality of life for Grant County Wisconsin residents. Through the efforts of Ron Brisbois, Executive Director of GCEDC, Darlene Mickleson, Executive Assistant and the support of the Grant County Board of Supervisors, business startups and businesses looking to expand or relocate will find a business-friendly environment along with several sizes and types of community Industrial & Business Parks with robust infrastructures and broadband access. If you are looking to start or relocate a business, start with the GCEDC Site Selector.

Located in the southwest corner of Wisconsin, the Grant County terrain exemplifies the Driftless Area.  With the Mississippi River flowing along the entire western border of Grant County and the Wisconsin River flowing on the entire northern border, outdoor recreation opportunities abound. ATV and Snowmobile trails (maps online) are many and maintained.  The Grant County Tourism Council prepares an annual Activity Guide which highlights local events throughout the year. Visit grantcounty.org/tourism to download a copy.

Visit grantcounty.org and learn more about this corner of Wisconsin and you will see why many of us prefer to live, work, and play in Grant County Wisconsin.

Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program (SWCAP) Website Launch

After having the privilege of working with SWCAP Deputy Director David Vobora and his team on this project, the WebWise Design & Marketing team recently launched a new website for Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program (SWCAP).

A rural, non-profit, anti-poverty agency, SWCAP is comprised of a team of caring, knowledgeable administrators, program managers, and staff dedicated to serving eligible people in the Wisconsin counties of Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, and Richland.

SWCAP offers diverse programs and services that help income eligible individuals and families in the areas of:

  • Health and Wellness: a network of education, financial assistance, and supportive counseling programs to help improve the physical and mental health of eligible area residents.
  • Housing: support programs for home repairs and energy upgrades, rental and buying assistance, as well as emergency housing.
  • Education: including the Head Start program for young children, the Foster Grandparents program, as well as continuing education and job skill improvement programs.
  • Transportation: LIFT provides transportation to medical appointments, work, school, and shopping. The Car Loans program is for income-eligible individuals who need financial assistance buying a car for work.
  • Employment: business development programs provide assistance for beginning and growing small businesses.

SWCAP also supports community programs such as food pantries, thrift stores, and Neighborhood Health Partners.

We support SWCAP in their mission of service and their work of helping those in our rural area overcome barriers, grow as individuals, and improve our local communities for future generations.

Aimee:

Thanks for the first 25 years of great graphics and web design work at WebWise Design & Marketing!

I am so thankful you took a chance and joined me doing what people told us WebWise Design & Marketing couldn’t do back in 1996. Your incredible talent, willingness to learn in an ever changing online world, and loyalty allowed WebWise to survive and grow in those early years. There are reasons our websites continue to look great 25 years later, and those reasons start with you.

Thanks for 25 years of extraordinary work, and putting up with the boss!

Farm Well Wisconsin Website Launch

Farm Well Wisconsin logoLast week the WebWise Design & Marketing team launched a new website for Farm Well Wisconsin, a service of the Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program, Inc.
We had the privilege of working with Chris Frakes, Farm Well Wisconsin Program Director. Her passion and commitment to developing and offering resources that support farmers’ health and well-being of farmers and their families in southwestern Wisconsin quickly became infectious. The WebWise team was all in.
You will easily find phone numbers for suicide prevention and farmer wellness hotlines and information with articles, tips, videos, recipes, and blog posts. Topics include, but are not limited to the following.
  • Eat Well
  • Keep Fit
  • Managing Stress
  • Injury Prevention
  • Sleep Well
You are welcome and encouraged to comment on blog posts and recipes. The more comments and conversation, the better.
To paraphrase Chris Frakes, “In vibrant rural communities, neighbors help neighbors, build up and draw upon local assets, and foster supportive connections.”
If you are interested in supporting and promoting health and wellbeing within southwestern Wisconsin agricultural communities, they are seeking additional members of our Farmer Wellness Advisory Coalitions (FWAC). You may find contact information on farmwellwi.org.
Congratulations to Chris and her team members on the launch of the Farm Well Wisconsin website as they start spread the word about their vital mission!
